Factors Associated with School Effectiveness: Detection of High- and Low-Efficiency Schools through Hierarchical Linear Models

نویسندگان

چکیده

School effectiveness is a topic of interest addressed by numerous research projects focused on clarifying which variables contribute to the explanation educational performance. This aims find out what extent social, cultural, and academic at student school levels, as perceived families, influence performance, evaluate relevance high residual gross score criteria in selection effective or ineffective schools. Census data from diagnostic evaluations Mathematical Reasoning Linguistic Communication students certain Spanish region, over five years, have been used. The multilevel hierarchical analyses carried enabled detection centers low efficiency, well identification factors, related idiosyncrasy center they attend, significantly performance students. It was concluded that socioeconomic cultural level family expectations, commitment reading agreement were significant students’ valid criterion estimate their once socio-cultural factors controlled.

Application of Hierarchical Linear Models/Linear Mixed-effects Models in School Effectiveness Research

Multilevel data are very common in educational research. Hierarchical linear models/linear mixed-effects models (HLMs/LMEs) are often utilized to analyze multilevel data nowadays. This paper discusses the problems of utilizing ordinary regressions for modeling multilevel educational data, compare the data analytic results from three regression techniques, and demonstrate the appropriate use of ...

Detection of Outliers and Influential Observations in Linear Ridge Measurement Error Models with Stochastic Linear Restrictions

The aim of this paper is to propose some diagnostic methods in linear ridge measurement error models with stochastic linear restrictions using the corrected likelihood. Based on the bias-corrected estimation of model parameters, diagnostic measures are developed to identify outlying and influential observations. In addition, we derive the corrected score test statistic for outliers detection ba...
